Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us in 2025. The volunteer program is designed to financially support the sanctuary throughout the year, so your support really is very much appreciated.

A few things have changed so here is the current info (apologies for the impersonal feel of this. With so many requests to volunteer with us received every day, this is the most efficient way, I hope you understand):

We have kept the cost of volunteering as low as possible and our basic prices have remained the same for the past 2 years!

A great improvement for 2025 is NEW TENTS!!! All of our tents will be replaced with brand new canvas bell tents and we can´t wait to show them off!

We ask that our volunteers can commit to a minimum of 5 hours work a day. The work is generally rewarding and fun (dog walking, feeding, grooming horses and donkeys, mucking out, light household chores etc) and there is plenty of time in between morning and evening chores to relax, sunbathe, swim in the pool, go sightseeing or spend time rubbing pig bellies or cuddling cats and dogs!

The cost of volunteering is 995.00 pounds PP for 7 nights (minimum stay up from 6 nights) FULLY INCLUSIVE. We provide you with all of your food, drink etc and even take you on local sightseeing trips or lake swimming/rock jumping adventures. Kayaking is available for an extra cost and availability is dependant on the third party company and also what is going on at the sanctuary.

 

SO...WHATS NEXT?

Decide when you want to come. Our main season runs from 1st May-31st October.

May and June is a pleasant time to visit, but late June can get pretty hot.

July and August are no longer available for visits.

October has lovely bright warm days, but the evenings can get a bit cold, so think onesies and thermals for bedtime!

By sending us the following details you are reserving your preferred dates subject to availability and this will allow us to book you into the system (we will send you the booking summary and payment info). You will then be given a 7 day period to make your 40% deposit payment. If the deposit is not received your preferred dates will be made available for other volunteers.
